Comments on DECS

DECS has the "initialize keys" action that is used to initialize the data in the NSF. This is a one time initialization. You will need to write a script that creates key documents to pick up any new DB2 records that are created subsequent to you running the "initialize keys." You would have this same issue with DCRs. This is where LEI comes in handy. In older versions, you could use a replication activity to keep the key docs in synch or in LEI 8, there is a utility built right into the virtual fields activity to synchronize keys.

Some other things to consider.
- If you are only reading data from DB2, then you only need to Open event for Notes documents
- If you want data, other than the key fields, to appear in a Notes view, you will need to use the option to leave real time fields in document.
